Louisville Weather Delays

Thu Dec 23, 2004 7:17 pm

Here's a link to a story in the Louisville, KY newspaper about delays at SDF.

Obviously Elaine Chao (who isn't Transportation Secretary) hasn't read Airliners.net -- doesn't she know that only sandal-and-Tshirt-clad white trash EVER steps foot aboard ANY Southwest flight?

Quelle horreur!  Big grin

Louisville (SDF) has a nice advantage because of 5X (UPS) being here. UPS has heavy demands for clear runways, etc. In a major snow storm back in 1993 or 1994 (memory fading) the entire city was shut down including the airport. At that time the city wasn't capable of handling the snow removal at the airport or on the city streets hence people couldn't even get to work when the planes were landing.

Louisville now has a great snow removal program to help ensure smooth operations for UPS. I am expecting people from EWR on CO and from ABQ (not sure what airline) so I hope it all goes well today.

Cheers,
John
