Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever operated a service between BHX and LHR or LGW ?

British Midland (as bmi was then) used to operate this route. I flew on it twice - once on a Dash 7 and once on an ATP. The Dash 7 flight was fantastic as the gear wasn't lowered until we were over the runway at LHR!

I flew to LHR and LGW when I was at college in Brum. LHR was operated by BMA and I took a Viscount, F27 and later a Shorts 360. LGW was operated by a Brymon Twin Otter. They had very cheap stand-by fares and that was the only reason a poor student could afford those rides.
