AA:Capacity Increase In Venezuela Routes(Summer05)

Mon Dec 27, 2004 11:45 am

Hey guys I just came across this article (In spanish) that says that AA plans to keep the FLL-CCS-FLL flight and that they will increase capacity during summer 2005 in this routes:

MIA-CCS-MIA

MIA-MAR-MIA (MAR=Maracaibo)

No word regarding a new MIA-Valencia-MIA service though  Sad

I think CCS-FLL-CCS will be kept but only seasonal, thats why it will be operated in the summer. Anyway, good for Venezuela.

A 757 to MAR would be very good indeed.Regarding CCS, maybe we'll get more A300s instead of B738s. I still wonder what happened to the new Valencia route...

The article mentions FLL-CCS, but nothing about AA keeping it. While I have heard AA may operate the flight during peak travel periods, such as summer, it is not in reservation systems for this summer.

Don't look for MIA-MAR to become a 757 either. MIA-MAR is a pretty high-yielding route, but not very dense, and putting the 757s on it would just kill the yields. Also, from a passenger perspective, I don't know why you would hope for an AA 757. AA's 738s are, by far, their best short/medium haul aircraft.

As for MIA-VLN, it will happen, but absolutley no idea when. AA has been pushing it back often, and the rumours March 2005 start date isn't going to happen. Though I am confident you will be seeing AA at Valencia sooner than later, most likely as AA's next South American destination.

From an enthusiast perspective, the bigger the better...
As a pax, I cant tell because I havent had the chance to fly the 738. I've flown AA's 757, 767, 727, A300, MD80s, but not the 738. I will fly the 738 next month but on Delta. CCS-ATL-CCS
