Turkish Airlines Sending A/c To Maldives

Tue Dec 28, 2004 3:52 am

Just heard from a friend at Turkish that an A340, possibly 2, will be sent to the Maldives to pick up turkish tourists stranded in the area. There is apparently not much left of the Maldives right now....

Some more flights to other areas are also being planned

There were a lot of Turkish families planning on spending the new year in the Maldives

any other flights going in that people know of?

That was reported tonight on CNN. Guess most of them went down on EK or QR.

Another question, does anyone know which aircraft did operate those two charter flights from MLE (via IST) to ZRH for Edelweiss bringing back all the tourists. Did they really send their 320 down there?
