Best Paint Scheme On The Sexy 727

Tue Mar 21, 2000 2:16 am

Ok...which airline's paint job looks the best on the sleek 727? I'm going to have to say Pan American's or Delta's old livery. What do ya'll think?

Yes I will agree;

Both the PanAm and OLD OLD Delta liveries looked excellent on the 727.

Another livery which suits it is also the American scheme.

Just my opinion!

Also the Union Flag livery from BA seems to fit the Comair 727s quite well....

Why use past tense?

The PanAm scheme is still looking good, and will continue to do so!

I think the new BA livery looks nice on the 727 as well,
also I think that dan-air's livery also made the plane look good.
this livery you can either love or hate, the air jamaica livery also look(ed)? very nice on a 727.

This is my favorite scheme on a 727. I believe it is one of the best.

Mexicana Anyone?

Tue Mar 21, 2000 5:40 am

What about Mexicana? I know they are basically a eurowhite scheme, but their tails look good, and they carry it well...the older tails where they blended in with the body looked even better...too bad money stopped them from continuing this feature...they even beat BA with the different tail styles...

I like the 727-200 in Pan Am's old and new colors as well as TWA's new colors and Braniffs flying colors.

Not to be rude or anything, but if you think that the 727 looks sexy, then you must have some serious women (men) problems!

Northeast's "Yellowbird" paint job of the late 60's/early 70's. National's "sunny tail" livery as honorable mention.

Hey,

I loved Eastern Airlines colors on the 727, especially with the bare aluminum finish.
I also loved Air Canada's old 1980's paint scheme along with their revised 1987-1993 colors. Sweet.
Also, I agree with a previous post in regards to Braniffs flying colors. I miss seeing those multi-colored planes.

The 727 is a sleek and sexy aircraft my friend. This has nothing to do with women or men problems. Does anyone else in here agree with me on this?

Ever see the Southwest 727's? I remember seeing pictures in either Airliners or Airways of a few short term leases they had and thought they looked cool. As far as regular fleet examples, I like the new Continental.

Any B727 that is still flying looks mighty fine to me!!!

To me it is a toss-up between the old Trans Australian Airlines (TAA) and Ansett liveries (the red and black), or the current FedEx paint job. Also did not mind the old Commet livery.

B727-200.

TWA has a cool one. I searched around and found a image on airpics.com
of a nice one. Image is at http://www.airpics.com/showimg.php3?imgid=twa0001

Pretty nice livery on that aircraft.
