"Janet" LAS

Mon Jan 03, 2005 4:24 am

Hi All,

Have read about (and seen at LAS) the white 732s with red stripe known as Janet. What is the real deal, where do they go? Perhaps this should be in an alien conspiracy thread instead?  Big grin

It's pretty much a public secret that the flights go out to Groom Lake AFB, aka. Area 51, as well as some of the military installations nearby.

This has been discussed countless times. Try a search for "Janet" and/or "EG&G" (the outfit that operates them) and you'll get numerous hits.

Bottomline is that they ferry workers from LAS up to Area 51, and sometimes other places.

They also go to other locations such as the Tonopah Test Range. The defence contractors and military operate a number of locations in Nevada.

There are similar locations in Australia and the UK, except that the UK ones do not require 737s due to the more compact nature of the country. Much secret work is done in the Australian Outback.

Soooo... What's their FFB program like? How many trips to the TTR do they have to make to get a free round-trip ticket to Palmdale?  Big grin TC

>>"What's their FFB program like?"

It's an agreement of non-disclosure, non-promise of which will result in a free 727 ride straight to Leavenworth for an extended, no-expense stay.

There ain't no "Precious Stew" program either...maybe there's one in Leavenworth.

I think most are probably GS-11/13s with TS/SCI clearances.

I've observed a couple of times from a room at the Luxor that the activity on the EG&G ramp is often frenetic, four or five 732s arriving and departing within an hour.
