Delta Transatlantic

Wed Jan 05, 2005 9:36 am

Hey

I have noticed that delta has only 8 777 in their fleet, do they use them for their routes to Europe or do they only use the 763 on the European routes. How many 763ER do they have on their fleet right now.

They use them on a number of routes over the Atlantic. I don't know the exact routes now, but they've flown in the past few years:

CVG-CDG
ATL-LGW
ATL-MAN
ATL-DUB/SNN
ATL-AMS
ATL-FRA
ATL-MXP

Kinda a little off topic but is ship 7004 back from getting its crew modifcations done? and if so when does it take its first trip to NRT?

DL 767-300er
Ship numbers
171 - 199 = 28
1601 - 1613 = 12
1501 - 1505 + 1521 =6
1701 - 1705 = 5 *domestic use - at least for now
1200 - 1201 = 2
= 53

Thats what i remember, however i have been away from DL for almost 3 months.... the numbers are already starting to run together! hahahah

Right from the Delta Fleet Information page:

Boeing 767- 123 currently in service.

-232 (15)

-332 (28)

-332ER (59) Next delivery Ship 1614(Option) October 2006
There are 0 767-332 on order.

-432ER (21) Next delivery Ship 1822(Option) September 2006
There are 0 767-432 on order.
There are 24 767-432 on options.

Directly from Delta's mouth, so to speak.

Delta uses their 777s on ATL-NRT, several TransAtlantic flights from ATL, and some short domestic hops....The rest of their TransAtlantic network is 767s, including all flights from JFK.

They are currently being used on the NRT, FRA, LGW, and CDG flights. They are also being flown on a couple of short distance hops like MCO.

The T7 goes CVG-CDG in the summer for the last three years now.

I'm on CVG-CDG on a T7 in BizElite in July, I'm stoked!!!

I flew DL 777s ATL-LAX-ATL three times this last spring. The first time was booked as a coach fare, then got a Medallion Upgrade. The other 2 were booked first class. I enjoyed the Business First configuration. Service was mediocre and meals were a notch above airport Burger King. However I do miss DL Business First service on that route. Looks like 777's are now all long route and Disney bound.

I think 7004 is done. Currently 7006 and 7007 are in for the mod. 7005 has also been completed.

Since Delta phased out the 14 or so MD-11s they had, the 777s have basically replaced them on those routings. ATL-NRT, and ATL-MXP being prime examples.
