Radio Scanner Onboard

Can you bring your radio scanner to the airplane?

Yes, you can carry a radio scanner onboard the plane. Once onboard though you're not supposed to operate it.

You may also want to check local scanner laws. If scanners are banned in the location in which you are going through security, you may have a problem. Some countries tend to be fairly strict with their scanner laws.

I used mine on NW 68 from DTW-AMS when it used to be a B744, that was sweet. I heard the F/O or capt. acknowledge a turn command from Cleveland artcc and about a second and a half later we executed the turn... very cool I think.
