Weather Diversions In Ireland

Mon Jan 10, 2005 9:18 pm

Just for information, Dublin, Cork and Knock Airport were closed last night for varying periods due to high winds and rain. It led to approximately 1,600 and 1,800 passengers being stranded in SNN for the night as all available busses in the region were taken up.

I'd say this is a further kick in the teeth for Aer Lingus after last weeks problems over the ground incident in DUB - apparently most of the stranded passengers were from EI.

Yes, the weather in Dublin was extremely bad. However, these things can happen to all airlines and it's something that airlines deal with and recover from.

Unfortunately, from Aer Lingus's perspective, the big problem is hot air emanating from the vicinity of Kildare Street! I'm just about to start a thread on this ...

Tune in next time, when you will hear Dr. Bob say ...

" Go around, you muppet!"
