Thanks Eddie for the welcome and I hope I enjoy posting as much as I have done reading all this time.

About the awards I see its only a regional recognition, because the winners are all from Central not Latin America as a whole!.

By the way that's the reason Mexico Citys Airport claimed the 1st place in the region, nothing to do against Santiago s Arturo Benitez, for instance

I noticed that too, but it strikes me as funny that the category is called Central and Latin America when there is also a separate category called South America. I guess both should be merged into one single category to make things more competitive. Otherwise, the Central & Latin America category should be renamed Mexico & Central America. Anyway, one thing cannot be denied: MX is really a world-class carrier with very high standards of customer service.

It is very difficult to hide the truth. MX is just the best what ever people say.

Really hope MX is the one giving identity to the new Mexican airline.

Congratulations MX!!! They are indeed a good airline!!!....nice to see that World Travel Award gives it to someone who is not LAN or the over-publicited CM.

Agree RCS763av, but if you look at the "South America" category at the W.T.A. site (yeah, as I said, both categories should be merged to make things more competitive and to avoid confusion), you'll see that the carrier who won this year is RG. This is completely unexpected, since the general perception is that LA and JJ are much better carriers.

Eddie and RCS:

Each day I'm starting to "lose faith" in these rankings, since LA is always recalling the "number 1 XX award", as the best airline last year OAG of the region.

I mean, my point is: you chose the airline, I'll give you the "proper" number 1 ranking for that airline...

Anyway, I've always heard nothing but good comments about MX and AM... so good for them: more competition based in service. Although I do recognize I find very ugly those seats of the MX767 posted above  Big grin

Felicitationes Aeromexico

RG the best in S.A.???? That one was weird....that price sohuld have gone to LA or JJ, since thay are quite the best down here (not sure about entire Latin America, thats what my previous post is about)

The importance is not the geographical location, but "best" is what?

Service?
On-time performance?
IFE?
Number of destinations?
youngest fleet?

"over all" is too subjective...

BTW, I agree with Arcano. That interior looks like RG's 767 except green and a little bit newer.

Cheers,

Best in everything you mention. Please go to the WORD
TRAVEL AWARDS webpage.

What makes this sweet for Mexicana is that they were picked by travel agents around the world.

Good Job Mexicana, you deserve this recognition as
we who are members of Star Alliance know how good
a member you were. Hope you come back, we miss
you...

NAVEGA,

I'm not trying to say that Mexicana doesn't deserve the title, I'm just saying that these awards aren't very accurate. Ex: How can RG be best everything in S.A. when their service has completely deteriorated, they operate a not-so-young fleet, and have limited IFE? Sure, they are the largest airline in L.A. but that alone doesn't make them the best airline by any standards...

And as you put it, Travel Agents world over pick the airlines...RG is much bigger than JJ internationally, and this is why I figure they were picked: RG makes them more money...

However, it's still nice to see them being recognized!

I hope I didn't offend anyone.

Cheers,

PPVRA

youngest fleet?
MX
