BA FIRST: Lounges In BKK / SYD?

Wed Jan 12, 2005 10:38 am

Hello all, I have a question about lounge facilities for British Airways in Bangkok and Sydney. I'll be taking my very first First Class flight next month. We are going the long way round from Seattle to Sydney via LHR and BKK.

Now I know we can shower in LHR (Molton Brown spa - woohoo!), and that will be good. But will we be able to shower in BKK on our 1.5 hour layover, or will we be able to shower when we arrive in SYD? We're getting in at 6:10 am, and probably won't be able to check in to our hotel at that time.

Any other info about the lounges in SEA, LHR, BKK, SYD, MEL, and SIN is most welcome. Thanks.
But that was when I ruled the world

Not quite sure what flights into and out of LHR you can use. If you are in transit with an onward BA F boarding pass you can use the MB Spa in T1 or T4 departures.

LHR: Arrivals lounge in T4 (flying in from BKK) is worth a visit if only to get a shower and a some breakfast. It is fairly easy to find. When you get into the public area turn right and keep going and it is down a corridor. Signposted so very straightforward. You can get a massage here too although it isn't in the Molton Brown Spa.

BKK: You are allowed off the plane coming and have about 45mins, so just enough time to get a shower in the joint BA/QF lounge although most of the signage indicates it is Qantas Club. It is near gates 51-56 and is a nice refuge from the bustling airport. There is a separate side for F passengers so no problems queing for showers. A couple of internet terminals are available as well as usual snacks and drinks.

I am pretty clued up on all the LHR lounges so can ask any more questions, although with the exception of BKK I am at a loss

BA don't have a first class lounge at Sydney, you have to use the Qantas Club lounge but this i believe is NOT available to arriving passengers.
