Sat Jan 15, 2005 2:43 am

I just read an interesting article about Airbus and I wanted to share those information with you guys:

+ 2004 deliveries: 320 (285 for Boeing)
+ 2005 deliveries forecast: 350 to 360
+ 2004 orders:370 (57% marketshare)
+ Airbus increased the price of all models
+ Audited accounts show Airbus to be almost twice as profitable as its competitor
+ Profit margin: 9,6% (5,8 for Boeing)
+ Airbus decrease production time from 9 month in 2003 to 6 in 2006 for the A320 and from 12 to 9 months in 2007 for the A380
+ To decrease problems linked to the weakness of the dollar, up to 75% of its purchases are in dollar even if the supplier comes from EU.
+ Production costs decrease by 7%
+ Airbus launched a cost reduction program in 2003 and plan to save up to 1,5 billions Euro by 2007
+ From 2008, the A380 will account for 25 to 35% of the group's sales
