A beautiful tail design. Not to hijack the thread, but how many A320's does jetBlue still have on order? How the hell are they going to come up with names including blue for I believe 50+ more aircraft?! Good luck to them. I can't wait to see the new terminal at JFK when it's built.

Cool!
I can't wait to fly on them someday. I think I still prefer the dots, but I'm sure this comes close behind. Do think this is what was meant by the Airbus 'the sky gets a new blue' (see the wallpapers on the airbus website), or is it to do with the A380 on Tuesday?

Won't have to wait long to find out anyway...

The new Airbus 'The Sky Gets A New Blue' is a rebranding of Airbus' corporate colors... theres a picture of the A380 where the wind blew off the plactic off the new painted tail...

Edited to include link to new A380 tail color (found in another thread)....

I have to say that the A380 tail design would look really nice on a B6 EJ-190 or A320.

JetMARC ... Just looked at your profile, and then your link .. I know you! lol ..

as for the tail design, I think its great! I HATE the bubbles one (its not a true Pucci design) and I HATE the Harlequin (makes me dizzy!) .. but this one -- I think they call it Art Deco -- looks nice!

At first looking at the tail design I thought "Mondrian", after further review, it's bit more Frank Lloyd Wright than Piet Mondrian. This tail design is definitely my new favorite.

I see this one doesn't have a motto yet under the cockpit. I get a bigger kick out of those "blue" mottos then the tail paint scheme.

Does anyone know when the knew design will enter the fleet? I fly JetBlue next month out of JFK, and it would be nice to have a ride on one of the birds with the new tail.  Smile

According to that site, that aircraft is scheduled to be N605JB .. and the name designated for N605JB is "Blue Yorker"

Yep, definitely running out of names . . .

Why would you say that? I think it's a very clever name...especially since JetBlue is based in New York City...

Lately the new names have been great...I especially like "Tale of Blue Cities" and "You, Me, And a Plane Called Blue." Both are from late-04.

Interesting about this white "Euro" c/s for Jetblue... I've read literally hundreds of posts complaining about how boring so and so's scheme is because of the white tube but along comes B6 and suddenly it's OK. Is it just because of the different tails or the love affair we have with the carrier?

Can I suggest a new name for a JetBlue A-320....???? How about "Blue Moanin".....taken from an old BTO song from their 'Not Fragile' album???

Wow, I really like the new tail. It's right up there with the bubbles and window panes, IMO.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

As big of a jetBlue fan as I am, it's odd to think I've never stepped foot in one of their planes. Home is Dallas, and I'm currently in school in the midwest, and there isn't a jetBlue plane in sight!  Sad Stinky.

Maybe when I'm done with flight training I'll get on flying the new E190s.  Smile

I like the tail it is like a stained glass look. It goes well with the plane and it looks amazing. Can't wait to fly on the new ones.

As for the names I think ever once and a while there are good ones like If the Blue Fits... or Blue Kid in Town. I also like the upcoming Blue Idlewild. They are starting to do NYC things. I think they should name a plane for each city they serve and something unique about that city. That would be a good idea wise for the Spirit of B6!

I don't care for it. It is too much like "Plaid" the current tail scheme. They could have come up with something better. I think that we the employees should submit tail designs like we do the names of the a/c.

Naming a plane for each city would be interesting. Rainy Day Blues for Seattle? Rising Blue for Phoenix? Home is where the Blue is for NY?

Hmm... the design is reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright's work.

And Concord977, it's jetBlue, not jetPurple. (Wink! Kidding aside, your design is very interesting, as is the choice of aircraft.)

Looks great, just like all the others!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

They are not running out of names - and for all who haven't noticed yet, B6 play on words very often. So "Blue Yorker" is a great idea.

Some other new names are:

"If the Blue fits..." (N599JB)
"Viva La Blue" (N603JB)
"Idlewild Blue" (N606JB)
"Beantown Blue" (N607JB)

The new plane to wear the new colors is supposed to be Beantown Blue not Blue Yorker:

73) N607JB A320-232 "Beantown Blue" F- Scheduled Del. February 2005 **New Tail Livery to be Introduced**

According to http://www.angelfire.com/dc/douglasjets/JetBlueNew.htm that's what is says it should be. Where did you get that N605JB is going to be the new one?

For new tails in the future I would like to see something along the lines of this one:
http://www.cardatabase.net/modifiedairlinerphotos/search/photo_search.php?id=00003387

or this one:

If you click on the planepictures.com link it says at the top: "F-WWDO s/n 2368 will be N605JB, 1st with new tail colors". Thats where I got that information from.

nice Tail.
Concorde977: Your drawing is good, I like it, send to them, maybe they create one after you, right?!?!

By the way, since we´re in the topic of new design and all this, when will B6 change it´s website routemap, it´s getting a bit confusing with all the lines.

Hopefully soon because its small and compact. It is like the same size map since like 2001,2. If you look in in the Northeast it is all lines to nowhere and LGA is not even close to NYC it looks like its down by PHL.

If you look on the planepictures.net picture of the new tail on the top right do all planes have that thing sticking out like that. It is like long and blue. Just noticed that.

If B6 went to DTW that would be GREAT. My brother goes to college there and he has to fly Spirit and well they are cheap but all you can do is look at the polka-dots on the seat in-front of you. They don't even serve pretzels anymore. Probably cutting back because of the A321's. I fly it too and it is BORING. The longest hour and 20 minutes I have ever witnessed. jetBlue would probably get good business because people that are forced to NW and NK will have some entertainment on the flights and someone to challenge NK. Spirit will probably try to get back at B6 by lowering fares on LGA-FLL or another route they share. I did find this article back in the summer http://www.detnews.com/2004/business/0407/18/c01-215224.htm and it seemed like they will probably start service sooner or later.
Connecting the Dots this year though.
