Delta Incident At CAE (737-200)

Wed Jan 19, 2005 12:03 am

Yesterday, I was scheduled to take DL 1087 to Atlanta from Columbia Metro on a 737-200 (N311DL). We departed from the gate as usual, but when we began to taxi the aircraft began to shake a lot more than usual, so the pilot stopped the aircraft, and later pulled off the main taxiway so that other aircraft could pass. At first he said that the aircraft was drifting to the right, so they suspected a problem with one of the tires. To make a long story short...2 hours later I was rebooked on USAirways for my flights, and at the time I left CAE (5:40) the 737 was still being repaired. The last announcement I heard was that the nose gear axel appeared to be bent...they attempted to repair it, and took the aircraft on a test-run with no success. Does anybody have any more information about the aircraft or what caused the incident?

Thanks

When I head to Midlands Tech this afternoon, I'll look and see if it's still there.

Yesterday I was flying Delta 732 GSP to ATL. We spent 40 minutes at the gate because they had problems with one of the engines. They were fixing it right on the spot. Pilot has made announcement that they will start both engines at the gate which is just for testing.

BTW - I was flying N305DL
