ILFC And Qatar 7E7s

Wed Jan 19, 2005 1:14 am

According to news reports both ILFC and Qatar Airways are in talks
with Boeing for 20 and 30 7e7s respectively(from comments made by the heads of both companies at today's 380 unveiling). If true then that's 50
plus another 80 from China that is supposed to come soon. Anyone
else knows who may also be in the pipleine to order the 7E7? Thanks,

Uresh

Here's the report for Qatar, I saw the report for ILFC but couldn't get a link. If anyone has access to Bloomberg website and can get a link to the story that would be great.

It's not really the most compelling article is it?

announcing a potential Boeing order at the A380 opening ceremony, bizarre.

That article says Qatar is looking to order 60. Just to clarify...

Yeah, 60 but I think that includes 30 options. They were talking 30 firm + 30 options last year.

The article does not say that Qatar will order the 7E7. It says they are planning to order up to 60 planes in this category. The 7E7 is one of the planes being looked at. Airbus is also offering the A350 to them, so this is far from a won battle for Boeing.

Nothing was implied that Qatar is ordering the 7E7 whether in the posting or in the article I don't know how you thought that it was a done deal. The fact that the head of Qatar made those comments at an unveiling of and Airbus jet is noteworthy. He did say that if everything falls into place that they will be placing an order prior to the Paris airshow.
