Hey, all. According to an article in the business section of today's El Nuevo Día (in Spanish), North American Airlines plans to ends operations at Aguadilla, Puerto Rico's Borinquen Airport as of the 31st of this month.
The reason given was that because of jetBlue flying the same BQN-JFK route, NNA had to lower their fares to match B6's and thus made the route unprofitable for them. Now with NAA leaving, this leaves BQN with only B6, CO and Boston-Maine/Pan Am 3 (if they're still around).
I suppose it was just a matter of time. With three airlines flying to the same area out of a small airport, eventually one was going to lose money. Let's see if 2005 brings someone else to BQN and hopefully fly someplace other than New York.
