This is also the reason for the miss-hap with G-CPEL

Some of you may think I am a bit be-hind on this, But I would like to know why British Airways has 2 different Designs for the Union Tail on the BA 757's, I think this happens on some other Types, I'm not sure, Maybe you could tell me that also.

Thank for your help in advance  Smile

not sure why BA have two different schemes here, might be different version of the livery.
By meaning that maybe one was done to start with (loads of cash etc...) and the other one done differently by a different company maybe...

As far as I know, British Airways paints there own planes, In there own hangars.

The only thing I can think off is that they had to different stencels by accident. LOL

Welcome to Airliners.net by the way  Smile

I may be wrong, but this is what I think the difference is...

The first design is the lower one. This was introduced at the time that the company announced 50% of aircraft would recieve the union flag with the rest keeping their other utopia designs. This version includes "United Kingdom" lettering.

The second version is the current one, which covers the higher parts of the tail and does not have the "United Kingdom" text. It was introduced as the new fleetwide livery once the world tails were completely scrapped.

You can also see the difference on other aircraft in the fleet, for example the 777...
