The Eclipse 500; A Remarkable Little Hummingbird

Fri Jan 21, 2005 1:46 pm

Hi all,

Just found the website for a rather obscure biz jet. From what it's site reads the Eclipse 500 is probably the cheapest, most durable light twinjet around. I'd get one if I had $1.2 million to spare.

Take a peek.

It's not obscure. It's been making waves. You just haven't been reading the right sources. Aviation Week & Space Technology, for one, has been all over it. Cessna has a similar aircraft, the Mustang.

Obscure? The Eclipse 500 has been the talk of the town for almost the last five years. I'm surprised that the failure of the EJ-22 engine didn't suck them down. They now face tough competition from the Cessna Citation Mustang. Cessna is well known and has a good support network.

I guess I'm not quite up to date with AW&ST, however I've heard alot about the Cessna Mustang.

Well I think it's a fantastic plane and is a lot more aesthetically pleasing than the Cessna Mustang.

The mustang looks like a heap of sh*t with wings on.
