YYZ Terminal Question

Sun Jan 23, 2005 7:51 pm

I came across this areal photo of YYZ (I think). My question is why is the terminal on the photo so isolated. Is this terminal at YYZ? If so, was there no room to built it closer to the other terminals? Connecting to other flights must be awful from this terminal unless there is an underground railway/metro connection to the other terminals. I also can't see a parking lot for this terminal, is that underground as well?

The main terminals,Terminals 1,2,3 are outside of that shot.I haven't worked at YYZ for a while, so I'm not sure what the infield satellite terminal is used for.

The infield terminal is used for international arrivals and departures while construction on the remaining concourses of new YYZ Terminal 1 is still ongoing.

International passengers are transported by buses that drive under the runways to access the infield terminal from the main terminal.

The terminal is not too bad inside with its own snack bars, duty free shops, etc...
