International Gateways In The US

Wed Jan 26, 2005 4:02 am

In terms of order, does anyone happen to know which ten airports are the busiest international PASSENGER gateways in the US? I know a few years ago it was JFK, not sure if they lost that title to MIA which was a close #2 the last time I saw this information.

Thanks in advance.

I know that ORD is number 1 in terms of international passengers that connect to or from a domestic flight, but I don't know where it ranks in volume of connecting and O&D traffic.

23) Denver/DEN - 0.95M

really?!

imho, there was only service (except canada) by BA,LH and MX. So the major part must have been canada. has anybody got the figures for international passengers without canada?

cheers,

12) Boston/BOS - 3.8M
I'm not sure whether to be surprised or not. Given all the restrictions of Logan, this has to be good news for a non-hub airport. With the traffic rebound in 2004 and the new International terminal this number could only have improved.

While I know that LGA has far more international service than many people realize.... I must admit that I'm extremely shocked to see them beating out CVG  Wow!

This is in 2003. I wonder what CVG is now with the addition of AF, DL to AMS, FCO, CUN and 777 periodically to CDG and LGW.

This is in 2003.

Yes, I know... but still.

Guess those 737/A32Xs to mostly pre-cleared destinations, as well as private traffic, really adds up.

And then you add up all the international service UA flies. That includes Mexico, Asia, Canada and Europe. F9 also has Mexico flights. You seemed to leave out most of DEN's traffic

Total PAX, including domestic and connecting, not international.
