Really? Ah....I was waiting for that  Smile I used to love the Duo flights between CGN and BHX and was sad to see them close down. Let's now just hope that BHX will be at decent times and not 6:30am...

US is returning one more A319 to GECAS. I wonder who will get it? Anyone know?

The 15 733's were supposedly going to be turned into freighters.

Are you sure it's an A319? As far as I know (jp airline-fleets), US Airways have only nine A319s and one A320 leased from GECAS. The one A320 would be N101UW.

Did the leasing contracts with US expire regularly, or was this a special arrangement due to the poor financial situation of US?

GECAS = General Electric Capital Aviation Services. A large leasing company.

In how far can this lease contract be seen in connection with the 717 discontinuation ?

4U must have been a little annoyed by Boeing's decision to end the 717, since they officially said they wet-leased the two 717's from Aebal only to examine them for a potential procurement. At least this was stated on a little questionnaire passengers were asked to fill when I was on a 4U CGN-ARN flight in mid November.

Cheers
Jan

Ndebele: The article I read said 10 A319's. They could have "turned" an A320 into a 319 for the sake of simplicity.

A350: They were accelerated returns. GE got to reduce exposure to US and US got GECAS to agree to finance some new RJ's for them instead.

are those 9 A319 additional aircraft for 4U or will the airline just exchange the present fleet with these aircraft?

Also does someone know how many A319 is 4U presently operating?

Thanks
