Air France B737

Fri Jan 28, 2005 12:02 am

As most of you know, especially those who live in Europe, Air France will retire its last 737 end of this year or sometimes next year at the latest, in favor of a narrowbody fleet consisting only of A32X aircraft. And as far as I know, Air France is not interested in the Boeing 737 anymore. Anyone knows on what routes the B737's (500 Series only, I know that) are still utilized, mostly out of CDG I suppose, and when and where the final flight will be? FLYSSC must know. The only thing I'm sure is the very final B737 flight will arrive in CDG.

With the final withdrawal still so many months away, I would be surprisded if there is already an actual date let alone last flight assignment available.

I am scheduled on an AF B735 flight in July - hard to realize that this will probably be my last flight on this type in AF service after I have always thought of the aircraft as the "lesser alternative" compared to the A32X series during my previous bookings and travels.

16 B735 are in service with AF today.

12 a/c will still be in service next April 2005.

There is no fixed date yet for the retirement of the last aircraft, but it is said to be by the end of 2005 or spring 2006.

The B735 are flying mostly on the French domestic routes from CDG (SXB, LYS, NTE, BIQ ...) and to Northern Europe and German destinations (WAW, STR, CPH, AMS, ARN ) but also BLQ and LHR, TUN & CMN from LYS.

All the B735 fleet is based at CDG. No flights with the B735 to/from ORY.

The 9th A318 ( F-GUGI) was delivered to AF last December 13.

Hi all! Some AF B735's are coming down to Aerolineas Argentinas. They are already flying EZE-GRU, EZE-SCL and EZE-GIG. So you can come down to fly them here.
