Who has AI leased these 737s from and for how long? Also does anyone know how many aircraft will be entering the fleet?

There is still space on the tail for a nice logo to make it look complete.

As per http://www.planemad.net/Production_List/Boeing/737/30296.html , this is (cn 30296 / ln 1647) and is assigned Boeing customer code 6Q which corresponds to Boullioun Aviation Services.

The aircraft looks fantastic.. awesome!

The maharajah or centaur would do good on the tail... maybe some window painting as on AI's palace on the sky planes..

but very nice, sexy indeed..  Love

When and how will they be delivered? Happy to see that schedule of launch could be fulfilled! Big grin

Looks great. I think the centaur would have been overkill and made the tail look too busy. This is a clean and different look.

I did want to see what the palace windows on a 737 would look like though, oh well!

Beautiful livery.

I like how the titles on one-side of the aircraft are in Hindi (the Devanagari script) while the other side are in English as in the Air India paintscheme (which I also love).

I can only think of a few airlines that do this...

Wish the best of luck to Air India Express...

AI Express livery is great. I wonder if anything going on the tail or if it’s just going to stay yellow.

Tail looks unfinished especially with the darker yellow transition at the bottom. I suspect we'll see the centaur on it!

put Red Centaur and window outlines and it will look awesome.
Kudos to the designer of the scheme for putting slight colour transition on the tail, else would have look bland.
But the streak of Red looks out of Close-Up ad.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Great scheme.

Agree that the fin could do with the Centaur logo. The engines too should have the same yellow on the tail with the Centaur logo.

Now wait for Air India employees to have a psychotic meltdown because the logo doesn't match the mainline logo, or something very, very bizarre like that.

Beautiful airplane & livery: no question.

- I guess this 737 has the cockpit eyebrow windows - will subsequent AIX 737s be built without the eyebrows?

- I personally can't stand the transliterated Hindi on AI and IC aircraft; and now its even worse with AI Express. Surely there's a better Hindi synonym for the word "express" that could be used?

I will try and get some closeup shots of this bird next week, the weather is supposed to be nice. Normally, an aircraft would use taxiway bravo to head back to the Boeing Flightline after landing. However, as you can see in the photos, the aircraft used the runway to taxi back, as Bravo is closed. Hopefully it is up and running next week, as we will be able to get some closer shots.

It's not a matter of having a word for "express" or even "Air-India". Air-India and Air-India Express are proper nouns and you can't alter them. It's like if your last name was White, should it be changed to Blanco in Spanish speaking countries?

Then why not stick to English titles on both sides? My complaint is that when you transliterate "Air India Express" into Hindi it just looks & sounds really lame when you read it.

Perhaps because not everybody can read english or they wanted to give it some Indian flavor? Also, they aren't really transliterating it into Hindi. They are just using devnagari script to spell it out. It would be the same in Marathi, Hindi, or any other language that used devnagari.

Yes you are the only one LH. Btw, the day LH planes look this good... ok well that aint never gonna happen.

I agree with those a logo on the tail will do it well, to an already stunning livery (at least compared to most of the tasteless new schemes). Leave the engines white, no need for tacky Icelandair-like yellow engines.

Contrary to Europe, N.America and Latin America, Asian airlines are keeping it colorful and interesting.. and I'm glad.

Clickhappy,

Don't keep the joy for yourselves now, what will be the delivery route for this colorful baby? Big grin

Interesing to see how once more Air India has outdone itself as far as corruption goes. AI officials made a big deal about how the 737-800 WITH WINGLETS was much more efficient than the A320's which beat the crap put of the non-wingletted B737-800's.

Now we see the non-wingletted version? This is the sad story of Indias national shame Air India.

Retrofitting Winglets would be Expensive compared to Prefitted manufactured B738 with winglets.
Any links if AI Express is getting the Winglet versions on the Purchased versions rather than the Leased ones.
