Superbowl Flyover

Mon Feb 07, 2005 3:55 am

Just found out over the internet that the flyovers for the superbowl will be a couple of T-6's and a B-25 before the national anthem and 2 F-22's after the anthem. Got this off of www.warbirdadventures.com They have a little more info on their site about it. They are the ones providing the T-6's. Thought that this might be of some interest to some people.

Thanks, FlySC. I believe this will be the first "public" display of the new USAF F/A-22.

The first public flying display of the F-22 was on Dec. 17, 2003 at Kitty Hawk for the crowd that gathered there to celebrate the century of flight

Shouldn't this be in the military section of the forums?

Just as I suspected, the Florida Air National Guard and their F-15's are left out of the fun once again, even though they are less than 2 minutes away(by F-15 standards). But this being a Navy town and all, of course the Navy isn't going to be left out. Bah humbug!

A little off the subject, but since we are talking about F-22's...

About a month ago I was driving by Dobbins AFB and saw something out of the corner of my eye. As I turned my head to see what kind of aircraft it was, I'll be darne if it wasn't an F-22 with a chase F-16 coming in to land. I must say that as it crossed Cobb Pkwy right in front of my, I almost ran a stop light into a semi-trailer. First time I have ever seen one in flight.

Still think Longbows would be better. Come in and hover over the stadium, do a pedal turn and depart!

I could be wrong but I think the F22 was on display at Edwards Airshow in 2002.

If it were up to me, the pre-game flyover would be done with P3's.

First public display of the F-22 was the 1999 Edwards AFB Airshow. At least, that's what they told us when we were there. It was not a show display, but apparently an official test flight that happened to coincide with the airshow.

I agree with rogerthat, as cool as the '22's were, P-3's would've been awesome!

And NAS JAX is just full of them. Drive by and look over, rows and rows of Orion tails.
