United Airlines In Fiji

Mon Feb 07, 2005 2:30 pm

When did UA pull out of Nadi, Fiji? And why? They flew there in the 90's using 747 aircraft. Was this a direct service or just a stopover?

I was not aware the UAL ever served Fiji except for charters.

UA in Fiji? Besides an odd charters and occasional fuel stop in Nadi, UA has never served Fiji.

As mentioned above, UA only stopped in Fiji when the SYD flights were so weight restricted (enroute weather, etc) that it was more economical to stop in Fiji than to hold off a huge amount of passengers/cargo. It did not happen very often and, with today's technology for flight planning and dispatch, almost never (if ever) happens today.
