Mid Pacific Air - What Happened?

Tue Feb 08, 2005 6:43 am

When Mid Pacific ended passenger ops in the Hawaiian Islands in the summer of 1988, what ever became of them? I have seen several pictures in the DB of the YS-11s at various airports - even a F28 (never knew they flew that!).

Several YS-11's ended up sitting in front of the big hanger at LAF.
Don't know what happened to them since 1994 though..
Maintain 2300 until Boiler, cleared for the VOR-A approach, report BATLE inbound..

From what I understand, they were flying cargo ops somewhere on the mainland for a number of years, and they did briefly go back into the passenger business, flying Jetstreams as Reno Air Express, before finally going out of business for good.
