US-Domestic: Reduced Y-class Service Questions

Wed Feb 09, 2005 12:47 am

I guess this topic has been discussed before, but I still need your help guys.
After 9/11, US airlines have take lot's off measurements to cut cost. Not only were a lot of employees laid off, but the on-board service was reduced, especially in Y-class on domestic flights. So here are my questions now:
1. Which airline was the first to introduce buy food on-board programs?
2. How much do airlines safe with eliminating movies and stop distributing newspapers?
3. In what other ways has been service reduced in Y-class on US domestic flights?
NOTE: I'm only talking of mainline carriers.

Whoever can help me out, thanks for your help in advance!
