New Mexican Startup: Aerotropical Now Flying!

Wed Feb 09, 2005 3:51 am

Hi,

I really don't know if anyone has mentioned this airline, but it says that it started operations last Friday with a single 737 from Poza Rica to Mexico City. According to www.bird.ch their single 737 is registered XA-SAM. I've tried to look for any photos but haven't found any. The article also says they are servicing Queretaro, Reynosa and Puerto Vallarta. Hope to see some pictures soon, and to see yet another regional start up fly its way into the future!

Saludos!

Indeed they started flying last Friday. They flew MEX-PAZ-MEX early in the morning with XA-SAM a Boeing 737-200.

They have no c/s aircraf is flying all white! They will fly the exact same SARO destinations from MEX. Perhaps reason being that it's owner and CEO is the former SARO CEO.

Do you mean the extinct Servicios Aéreos Regionales de Oriente??????

Those really had a bad time here in MTY, more with the incident that got them cancelled, but let´s see if this case is different

Servicios Aereos Ruta Oriente, I think that was it.

Anyways that airline had a cool paintscheme, I hope this new 737 gets some paint and that its worthy of it's name: Aerotropical.

The Nova Air seems to be an aircraft from Sky King, is it leased, bought? If it's leased.. for how long?

MIAMIx707 :
Nop it was Servicios Aereos Regionales de Oriente, I remember they in TAM, they were competition against 5D in the MTY-TAM-MTY route, they got really low fares, even cheaper than the bus.

Let´s see their paintscheme, the old one was good looking.

Wrong, it was Servicios Aereos Rutas Oriente, I remember very well, the planes, name and logo.

And about this new airline, sincerely I can't see a brilliant future for these guys, sorry, but all things that start weak and bad will finish also bad.

Aerotropical 737-219 XA-SAM MSN: 21130 Delivery Date: 04/09/1975

An almost 30 years old airplane starting with MEX-PAZ-MEX  Nuts are you serious with this business?

SARO stands for Servicios Aereos de Rutas de Oriente S.A. De C.V.!

Seeing SARO and Aerolíneas Internacionales attempts being handled by the same family and their failure on both carriers I share your opinion Luis777. Sadly I see no future ahead. But I hope I'm wrong!

PS. Check APM website! AR's return to MEX was spotted by my camera! And your favorite aircraft is also back!

I remember SARO and their cool logo and paint scheme. What I can't remember is why they went belly up. I don't recall an accident involving SARO (like TAESA). Does anybody know what happened with SARO?
