Kalitta Air has a bunch of oldies in their fleet, but I'm not sure which one is the oldest. Try doing a search of Kalitta's 747s some of the remarks may give a delivery date to the original owner.

JL's got a few -200s still flying pax, as does NH.

UPS still flies some of PA's original 741s. I think the search may lead there

They actually have some -100s (specifically -SRs). So does Orient Thai and some others.

Apparently, the oldest B747 still active seems to be UPS B747-121 N681UP.

First flight of N681UP = July 24th 1970 with PanAm, then sold to Flying Tigers, Federal Express and finally UPS.

It was still flying on May 31st 2004 :

I found an "older" one :

Genral Electric engine test-bed B747 : N747GE

First flight : March 3rd 1970. With Pan Am.
Sold to GE in 1991.

How about some of Saudi Arabian's 747-100s ? How old are they?

Saudia's B741 are not that old... The 7 B741 still in service with SV were delivered in the early 1980's (1981 for the oldest one)

FlySSC:

I've flown 3-4 times with Saudia's 741s. I want to ask you, Saudia's 741s are first delivered to Saudia or they are the 2nd or 3rd owners ??

According to the boeing production list at http://www.planemad.net/data/list/Boeing/747/
Iranian Airforce 5-8101 was line nr. 5 and had het first flight in July 1969...

As far as I can tell thats the oldest one marked 'active'

IMatAMS,

The first flight of the B741 "5-8101" occured on July 13th 1969.

It was initially deliverd to TWA on August 18th 1970 before joining the Iran Air Force in 1975. It was later used by Iran Air as EP-NHJ and EP-NHV.
It came back to the "Iran Air Force" in Jauary 1986 as 5-8101.

I am not sure it is actually still active today. I think this a/c is presently stored at THR Mehrabad airport.

All the B741 still in service with SV but 1 were delivered new to Saudia.
The exception is TF-ABO : this a/c was delivered to Wardair Canada in 1973 and flew for Nationair, Garuda, American Intl Airways, and Air Atlanta Icelandic.

I am not sure if this a/c is really still flying for SV.

IMatAMS,

there is no proof that any of the Iranian AFs early second-hand bought 741s are in service still. No one has seen one in years.

Regarding the 747-100Bs of Saudi Arabian. All were directly delivered as new aircraft in 1981-83.
SV had many other, older 747-100s on lease over the years, almost all only for the short hadj-periods. TF-ABO was just one of them (although with Saudia for a few years in the 90s). Its retired since a few years.

I believe the GE-test-aircraft is the oldest 747 still flying. 35 years is a proud age for an airliner.

FlySSC, NA

Obviously I myself haven't got a clue of the thing's still flying.....But it's the oldest one marked as 'active'...., but you're right that 'active' might in this case just mean 'actively gathering dust' at THR, wich would make the GE one the oldest....Who knows??

Cheers,

You can tell the Iranian Air Force 747 was originally TW's.... look at the cheat line... it's the double globe livery "arrow" cheatline painted black.

I'd guess here in Asia it must be an Orient Thai 747 that holds the title, nespa?
