New Etihad A330 Flies Today (sort Of)

Thu Feb 10, 2005 5:29 am

Hi

Just had a quick glance down the topic list and can't see any mention of this yet (apologies if already mentioned).

A330 A6-EYV was flight-planned to fly Abu Dhabi (OMAA) to Filton (EGTG) today (9th) as 'ETD8003' (not 100% sure on last digit of trip number - trying to remember from memory). This is A330 cn 339, formerly I-VLEF with Volare.

Hope it's of use.

Cheers, Big grin

Hi Rob,

Yes - there was a Etihad flight planned to Filton today. Any idea why?

I imagine it's going there for some kind of maintenance before delivery. Filton often plays host to quite a number of heavies on pre-delivery and pre-lease return maint.

Hi Rob,

That's exactly why I was wondering. I saw an A330 parked at GAMCO yesterday evening (8th), but I couldn't make out the rego - I thought either -EYV or -EYU. Obviously -EYV now  Smile/happy/getting dizzy. But as GAMCO do heavy maintenance I was wondering why it was sent to Filton. We have stuff from the UK coming here for maintenance... hehe

I was wondering what you were on about for a moment there - saw your username and not knowing Filton, wrongly assumed that GAMCO was at Filton Big grin. I couldn't figure out the bit about it leaving yesterday until the penny eventually dropped and I noticed you're in the UAE not the UK  Big thumbs up

Are you just a spotter out there or do you work on the aircraft ?

Hi Rob,

Sorry for the sdrawkcab post. It's nearly 2am here.

I don't work on them either, but I spend my day telling them where to go and what to do!! But I do have time off during the shift to see what's up at GAMCO (Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Company)...

Cheers mate

Etihad already announced that their GVA flights will become non-stop into both directions. Meaning that MUC will get turnaround as well or being connected with another city ...
