LAS Gate Assignments

Mon Feb 14, 2005 10:50 am

When DH appears at LAS, what gate/concourse would it be at?

Also, I am interested if anyone remembers which concourse each airline was at before and during Concourse D was built.

The DH acronym doesn't seem to be correct. It is coming up as Atlantic Coast Airlines.

Yeah- ACA- Independence Air

I'm not sure where they would go really..but Terminal D would be a good bet as there is some open space there.

Does anybody know what airlines would go into the new wing at Terminal D?

Also, I might think that it would be in A Gates because B6 will be taking care of their ground operations.

Oh duh, i remember hearing a while back about B6 doing the ground handling. They will likely be over at the A gates then...but then again I've always thought of them as a good candidate to move to D. Maybe they will do this with the new wing.. who knows, just speculation.

maybe all the airlines in A, with the exception of HP will move to D, same with Aloha in C Gates, will maybe move to D, the only problem with this is that I don't think that HP would be able to fill up all the A Gates.

What about ATA moving to Concourse C to be with its sister WN, and maybe a new HP club to replace the gates that airlines would not be at anymore.

Since, most of the airlines are in Concourse D, it would make a lot of sense to have a Joint Club with all of those airlines to replace the ex-National Club. The only airline with a club anyway is HP.

DH is gonna be in the A gates (we use A15). i emailed a friend of mine who works at LAS and he said that we'll be handling the customer service side of things for DH. ground work will be the same contractors that we use in LAS

I would think DH is at A15, but I think everything should move to D, except for HP, WN, and move ATA to C Gates. Also have a joint airline club in D. And move the HP club to replace the unused A Gates to have a post-security club.

LAS is currently building an enclosed walking bridge from the C gates to the B gates, as WN will be taking over the B gates,therefore HP will be taking over all the A gates and moving everyone else to the D gates.

ATA operated out of T2 because they use to run a massive charter operation with several 72S and L10s back in the day. T2 was the unofficial "Charter terminal"--it serves as an international terminal.

are you serious WN is taking over the B gates. well, they do have very extensive LAS operations, but WOW!

will ATA move to C Gates?

do you know where the gate CIT is, HP keeps on talking about that for their International Arrivals, and where does AA international flights end up too?

I didnt know about all of that info, thanks!

Good question about HP international arrivals at LAS. I can't find anything on the HP or McCarran website about where HP's international flights arrive. AA has no international arrivals into LAS.

As for the bridge between C and B, it's so that WN can use the unused B gates. HP is not moving to A, at least that hasn't been announced. HP uses a lot of gates late at night which go unused during the day. The airport is allowing WN to use those gates during the day when they stand idle. I don't remember the system, I believe it's Muse (it was recently updated), but any airline can go to any gate and operate it as their own at LAS.

McCarran's website, http://www.mccarran.com, doesn't have any
information on who will be moving to the 10 new gates in the D terminal. It looks like they are nearing completion... I believe it is to open in May, but looks like it could be ready tomorrow.

As for where the airlines in D were before D opened, I know AA and DL were in the A gates. It's my guess UA and NW were in A also.

Also, McCarran is gearing up to begin building T3 with an environmental impact study recently completed. That terminal will be built to the east of the D-gates. The airport is currently pursuing "right-of-way" rights and relocating businesses whose land will be needed for the terminal. They recently reached agreement with UMC to move it's QuickCare facility.

On the website, it says HP's INT flights arrive at a gate called CIT. I clicked on it, it showed me a map of Concourse C, but no mention of a CIT. Maybe its the C Security Annex.

F9 just recently moved from the A gates to the D gates. Also, UA/Ted uses the D concourse, too. BTW, why is F9 assigned luggage carousel 13 at LAS? I thought that number was banned in Vegas.  Big grin

Actually, AA used to be on C. I flew into LAS in May, 1998, and AA had gates at the end on the concourse, on the west side. That space gave them some hardstands to park aircraft for RON.

The new gate assignments at the D-Gate expansion at LAS will be as follows:
D16 = B6
D17 = County
D18 = County
D19 = CO
D20 = CO
D21 = CO
D22 = County
D23 = County
D24 = County
D25 = AS
D26 = AS

Yes it is true that WN will be acquiring a few of the B-Gates. This bridge is being built in conjunction with the new RFID BHS system we are currently building. This project is still a ways off.

The CIT terminal it the Customs side of Terminal 2.

Independence Air will have their ticketing at the new North Ticketing site, and will be operating out of the A-Gates. ( DH is the correct code for them too!)

Whew...anything else I can answer please let me know.

wow thanks, so Independence will be the only airline in A Gates, how is that possible if B6 is taking care of them and B6 is gonna be in D Gates? Also, what will happen to the vacated A Gates?

I heard that SP will be doing the ground handling for B6 until they take over the duties themselves. That is supposed to be May 1st, at that time B6 will also takeover DH (at which point I am assuming that DH will move to D-Gates also). Currently there is also MG out of the A-Gates. There are some new airlines that will be coming in to take some of the A-Gates, as well as HP taking more than they already use.

i thought maybe new airlines would take the rest of the D Gates, but A Gates make sense, since we need more airlines in the A Gates. Will Aloha be moving to A or D or just stay at C?

What about ATA?

and when HP delivers their foreign destinations at CIT, after the people clear customs, do their luggage arrive at T2 or T1? Also, what if their connecting, they have to go from T2 to T1 and re-enter security, unless the plane ferries them back to T1.

where does B6's international arrivals go to?

how come HP sometimes arrives at Concourse C, do they also depart from there?

why doesnt HP just use some more of the unused gates at Concourse A?

B6 doesn't have any international flights into LAS. The only cities that they fly to out of LAS are LGB and JFK.

AQ will be staying at C Gates.

Quoting Lvkewlkid (reply 22):

B6 does not fly international flights into LAS

Quoting Lvkewlkid (reply 22):

HP does not fly into or out of C Gates. The only airlines that operate out of C-Gates are WN and AQ.

As stated above, they already use A3 and A5 at times, and when the new D-Gates expansion opens, they will be taking over more gates there.
