Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the A343 in question is ex Air Jamaica (MSN
048), and will fly as fin #983. If I recall, two former AC
A340-300's were returned to the lessor, one being sent to BW
, and one to JM
. Seating and galley configurations should be compatible to AC
's existing fleet.
Given the dire aircraft shortage, the aircraft will most likely receive a new paint job, but new seating, interiors and IFE on all aircraft is not slated to commence until the spring. Don't see the 340's being pulled for a retrofit until the next 'C' check or until the next low peak travel period being next fall.
