LTU In YYC.

Tue Feb 15, 2005 7:18 am

Nice change from WestJet's B737's and AC's A320's..

LTU A330-200 D-ALPD departed as LTU1585 to DUS at 2158Z.
I'm guessing a ski charter..

The red paint on the fuselage was quite dull.Is that standard ??

LTU is serving YYC on a regular, albeit seasonal, basis during the winter. I'm assuming trips to the Rocky Mountains are the lure. LTU will then begin seasonal service to YVR beginning in May. Nice to see more European carriers serve Canada during the winter.

It is not a charter, it is a scheduled flight. Operates every Monday. LTU has decided to make the service year-round, and it will operate on Wednesdays during the summer.

It will actually be LTU's only year-round destination in Canada, as Toronto and Vancouver are summer-only.

LTU announced a weekly flight DUS-YYC-DUS on Mondays starting in November or December '04. Due to low pax numbers they canceled all of the flights until January and had to rebook the existing bookings on other airlines (mainly AC) which is quite costly. But it seems to be cheaper than flying the route with a nearly empty plane. So I'm not sure, if this route will be flown next winter.
