Korean Air B777-200 New Svc At JFK

Fri Feb 18, 2005 7:32 am

Did a search and could find anything on this. Looks like on 2JUL2005 KE will start using B777 on their 2nd flight ICN-JFK-ICN on Sun/Mon/Wed. Other days of the week (except Thu..no op) will be B744.

KE 85 departs ICN 1850 arrive JFK 1930
KE 86 departs JFK 0050 arrive ICN 0420 +1

It'll be nice to finally see something other than the normal B747-400 on a regular basis at JFK.

Good to see more KE at JFK. Will they still have the ICN-ANC-JFK 744 also or will that stop in July?

Looks like the last day KE 85 does ICN-ANC-JFK is 26MAR. After that it switches to nonstop.

Thanks for info, though I guess this means ANC will be down to only KE freighters again.

Yes, checking dates after 26MAR05 I don't show any passenger service on KE from ICN to/from ANC. So this 777 news is great for the JFK folks but bad for ANC guys...sorry!

Will the B777 have the new F & J cabins? Is KE standardizing the First Class, combining Premium First and First Class? I noticed their B744 have two different F-cabin plans. So KE11/KE12 remains a B744?

Thanks,

ANC will still get KE PAX service until the end of August this year. The flights will be thrice weekly, operated by A330-300, and will turn around at ANC.

Rafal, the last three years, KE has flown a 777-200ER to IAD daily from Mid-July to Mid-September. I haven't checked recently but I wouldn't be surprised if this happens again this year.
