Rattle My Windows! 707 T/o From Orlando!

Sat Feb 19, 2005 11:10 pm

Any word on the 707 that took off from Orlando (MCO) this morning? Shook me out of bed - ran outside to see it but couldn't make out markings. Info please!!! No - not military (I think) wasn't bare metal or grey - had white fuselage and blue belly.

If so, that is a privately-owned 707 that was previously operated by Lowa, Ltd. Who are they? Don't know. I think they're based out of Basle/Mulhouse, but can't be certain.

It must have been some sort of military/gvt flight. I looked on Red1Aviation.com for all departures this morning and all arrivals yesterday and saw no 707s. The only thing that fits that physical description that comes to MCO is that ATI DC-8-70, but DC-8-70s aren't known for "shaking people out of bed".

If it was any carrier, they would have had to conform to Stage III laws.

I am not aware of anyone else with 707s besides Military and John Travolta. Travolta lives in Ocala Florida and he may fly into MCO, but theres no blue on his plane.

Military/Gvt planes don't show on Red1Aviation.

Here is a plane that fits the description and has an American registration:

Or could it be NASA's?

Doesn't the US GVT still use the 707, that used to be used regularly as Air Force 1? They have blue bellies

That privately owned 707 has an American reg though. You would think they would operate with a flight plan and it would show up on red1aviation.

Isnt this still flying around?

I know at least one of the military 707's is now at Ronnie Ray-Gun's library.

N707JT is a regular visitor to MCO, as Travolta has to stop there to get gas if making long trips, because of runway limitations at Jumbolair, but last I checked it was at LAX. I am guessing the blue plane is it

I saw it lastnight driving down Tradeport. It was over by jetBlue/LiveTv hanger and had UNITED STATES OF AMERICA painted on the side and appeared to be a short-bodied series. It was painted in the VC-135 scheme.

Is the military still operating any 135's in the executive layout?

Also, does anyone know where the B742 horse charter was headed that was on the west side of the field loading up around 4pm yesteday?

It was registered A6-GDP.

A horse charter 742? Where was it going?

I know Ocala is a big horse area where a lot of race horses are raised.

Does a privately owned 707 have to conform to Stage III rules or can it be left non hushkitted. Just curious.

If it is privately owned, yes, it would have to be Stage III. The LOWA 707 is re-engined and is far from being a "window rattler". The NASA 'Vomit Comet' was retired just a couple of months back, so couldn't have been her.

Most likely, it could have been a J-Stars or some other military variant. It could have also been a foreign government 707. These would mostly be operating with JT3D engines which are STAGE I and will shakes some ground!

If the B742 was all white I believe it is owned by one of the royal flights from the mid east, poss using callsign 'dubai 5', flights transit thru Stansted alot.
