E-mailed Flight Plans?

Tue Feb 22, 2005 12:31 pm

Just a quick question before I leave for work; Is there any system that allows a pilot or clearance delivery to e-mail a flight plan or clearance to a crew before departure? Keep hearing Toronto (YYZ) delivery and crews talk about PVCs (?) in that context. Thanks ahead of time for any responses.

It's PDC. Pre Departure Clearance. It's sent via ACARS. It's a great system and reduces the volume on Clearance Delivery.
In the US it's available 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure. If you want to go earlier, just call Clearance and they will retrieve the flight plan and send it via ACARS.
