What Is Going On At Alitalia? Strike!

Tue Feb 22, 2005 5:17 pm

Hey, I'm booked on AZ from FRA to ATH via FCO on thursday and back on Sunday...
Now it seems as they are on strike. Look at this:

[Edit: click below in reply #1]

I was really surprised by this. Does anybody have any insights on the strike situation? Do you think this might affect my flight plans?
What if they do strike, do I have a right to get rebooked on another carrier?

I'd be glad if anyone who knows more about what is going on at AZ could help out.
Thanks,

 Insane PA

From what i gather the strike is 24hrs only, and then next one will be on the 9th of march? so you should be safe.

I wonder what will happen to Alitalia. I would be afraid to book with them as things are.
what seems to be the officer, problem?

Well, I obviously wasn't aware of their situation when I booked  Big grin. I knew they were not doing great, but not that things are so bad...

I was just wondering whether anybody knew more... I also read that about March 9th being the next strike, but you never know how accurate that is. People from AZ might have better info on that.

In theory, how is the situation when they cancel flights because of strike? Do you get rebooked or any compensation?
