Your Opinion Please, Hole In Tail Biman Bangladesh

Wed Feb 23, 2005 12:35 am

Hi all,

need your opinion, on the following picture, you can see a hole in the tail of a Biman Bangladesh DC10. The flight BG011 from BRU to JFK was cancelled. Anyone knows the reason of this hole in the tail?

Hi Bart

My guess is that a small piece of the tail has fallen off. You can see the part on these two pics below:

A third pic shows the tail when more part of the edge is missing:

A good thing is that the tail is not torn apart during flight because a small piece is missing. As we have seen before with other planes, they can still fly even if an engine or the cowlings fall off.
