Two BNA Route Questions Re BOS And US To EWR

Wed Feb 23, 2005 1:21 pm

I just came home from BNA and while i was there I checked out the arrivals and departures boards and have two questions.

First, why does US operate BNA-EWR? neither of these are focus cities for US. Wouldnt BNA-LGA make a lot more sense?

Second, why dont they have service to BOS? BOS and BNA are both pretty big cities in terms of business travelers and I would imagine that AA, US, or DL could do well if they put an RJ on this route. Any thoughts?

Nycfuturepilot-Because those BNA-EWR (and reverse) flights don't fly nonstop...Of the three BNA-EWR one-stops, two stop in PIT (one a Trans-States ERJ, one a MidAtlantic E70) and one in CLT (a 733), and the lone EWR-BNA one-stop stops in PIT (a Trans-States ERJ)

Might have something to do with WN flying to both PVD & MHT non-stop. Although, if memory serves me correct, AA (Eagle) used to fly (ERJ-135?) to BOS, but don't remember when or for how long.

AA Eagle flew BNA-BOS 2x daily with an ERJ-135 from around 2000 until late (Nov?) 2003. From my experience a good percentage of US's BNA-DCA pax actually connect onto the Shuttle to BOS.

American Eagle BNA-BOS service started 19 March 2000. Ended around June/July 2003.
