Yes, you guessed right! I am nowhere near the seniority needed to hold -anything- international in SFO
. I don't plan on doing that at least until that airliners.net profile needs updating!
And yes-- I'd say that 25 years seniority to hold this trip is about right. I figured simply by adding, "(as far as sought-after international trips)" is enough for the general reader here.
I do still think this will be one of the most junior international trips in SFO
. Right now, not including Hawaii, MEX
, or TED-Mex, KIX
is the most junior international assignment here in SFO
. There's little to do around the hotel area for the average non-Japanese speaker and 4-day trips are generally harder to trade than 3-day (hence NRT
being the senior Japanese destination). Had Nagoya stayed a 4-day trip, I think the first few months might have been senior, given that "new car smell." However, if the layover hotel ends up being sub-par or if downtown Nagoya lives up to its SFOSW reputation as being "dull"... for Japanese- and non-Japanese speakers alike... I think it would have gone junior to even KIX
. NOW that it's a 5-day trip (low time compared to the SYD
5-day) with a 12-hour field layover in TPE
, I think it will be quite junior. It will be hard to trade out of, the line hours will be low compared to SYD
lines, and the drive to downtown NGO
will take even longer than KIX
. Watch this one go "junior!" (Dare I say 24 years seniority?!)
