Air Transat 737-400?

Sat Apr 01, 2000 1:13 am

Hi,

I saw this morning an Air Transat 737-400 at Quebec city airport. He left at 0800 to fll.

What is curious is this plane is red. This isn't the usual color for this charter. (blue)

Does someone know where this plane come from? from which lessor or airline?

The registration is C-????.

PS. For your information, the flight was more than half empty. More than 100 seats left.

Thank you

I think that the 737 came from virgin Express in england. I am not to sure about that but I thihk that I read it somewhere before.
I would say that there is somone here that can answer this better than I. But I hope that I am right!!

Yeah, the 737-400s came from Virgin Express on a lease. Registrations are C-GBIW and C-GBIX.

You are all correct in guessing that the 737-400 does infact come from Virgin Atlantic. We have been leasing the aircrafts for about three years now every winter to help with sun destinations. There are two of them bearing the registrations C-GBIX & C-GBIW. This is the last week they will be in service for us, and we will no-longer be using them in the winter schedual. TS has purchased to L1011-500 from Air Lanka.

If you want to be exact;
The 737s come from Virgin Express, which is a Belgian company, not Virgin Atlantic, it's UK parent or Virgin Express Ireland, it's Irish subsidiary. That's as clear as mud - right!

Anyway, does anyone else think that those 737s look really good in the hybrid red Air Transat livery - I do, any takers - or do I just have bad taste!?!?!?!?

I agree, I like the way that the plane looks in those colours, I would like to see the rest of teh fleet re-painted in those colours. It would be much better then the new one, I don't like that star, it has nothing to do with Canada, at least the 737's are in Canadian Colours.

HI,

Thank for your informations. I'm wondering why Transat don't use aircraft from STAR, in France. It's the same compagy. Why not? Pourquoi pas?

For Transat guy: Also, do you know if Air Transat need poeple to work for them? I'm looking for a manager's job? or anything else related? I have a MBA

Thanks,

Air Transat has the star in their new livery to show their alliance with STAR Airlines in France.
