CSA Takes Delivery Of First A320 Aircraft

Sat Feb 26, 2005 2:08 am

Prague based Csech Airlines is now taking delivery of first Airbus A320 aircraft. I suppose they are expecting a bunch of those to replace in the long run the B737-400/500 aircraft, and obviously the NG737 Series have been ruled out. I got this info from planes.cz, I didn't read anything because it was all in Czech, I just looked at pictures.
Being a new member in the European Union, I'm not surprised Czech Republic's flag carrier is slowly moving to an all Airbus fleet as most other European airlines fly/have flown at least one Airbus type(the only exception is Malev, Hungary is now part of the European Union and the flag carrier has never had any Airbus in its fleet). However the 4 A310's they operate on long haul flights can very well be replaced with B787's early next decade.
Checo77 must know.

This is the first picture of a CSA A320 on airliners.net

Looks Nice. Are they ordered A319 too?

Actually Hungary is not only exception. Flag carriers of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania never operated any Airbus.

Just read the article, which says that the aircraft is currently in France being readied for delivery. It is expected to be in PRG during the first or second week of March. Apparently, Airbus has been putting off the delivery for a while now. I wonder why?

I don't think Airbus has anything to do with this delivery. The first few planes are leased second hand. This one is an ex-Sabena plane.

CSA have done well to order Airbus. Wise move. Better than to incur the wrath of Brussels.

Turkey knew it would have a better chance of getting in the EU if Turkish ordered some 320s.

OK, sorry about that, it said the delivery kept getting put off so I automatically assumed it was Airbus.

I just found out that it actually belonged to Air Luxor and then Air One, not Sabena.
