Yankee In Asia

Mon Feb 28, 2005 1:40 pm

I am an American pilot, trying to move up in the world. Currently it seems like many of the best opportunities are in Asia. If I were to get a job with a non-american airline, (Asian or other) would I have to convert my pilot's license to that country's standard? If so, would that process be significantly easier if I had already converted my FAA to JAA, or would I just be wasting my time? Any comments on this or any specific airlines greatly appreciated.
