Is The Standard MD80 CAT II Or CAT III ( A / B )

Hi all.

I got a question last night from a friend of mine and sadly I could not answer , could u help me guys.

"Standard equipment" when the MD-80 series was offered was with CAT II ILS autoland equipment. However the MD-87 and MD-88 were offered with CAT IIIa autoland equipment. Optional equipment will get you to CAT IIIc, if you want. But all three CAT III ILS approaches also require additional pilot training.
