Who Is Eike Rohn? Name On HHI Boeing 737-700

Tue Mar 01, 2005 7:05 am

Hello.

I know that the subject is a bit confusing, but don't know how to formulate better. When looking on my pics of the Hamburg International 737-700 D-AHIC, which I took last week at TXL I noticed the name Eike Rohn painted below the cockpit windows. Does somebody know why it's painted there and say the two small words above? Unfortunately my pics aren't that good that I can read the words. A search on Google only turned out a LH Captain who was involved in the death of a passenger who was on deportation to the Sudan and died onboard because of the treatment by police. Is it the same Eike Rohn? Who has more infos. Also found nothing on the HHI website.

Bye, Georg.

P.S.: There are no pics on Anet which show the name painted on D-AHIC.

I really hope that it is not the same Eike Rohn since I read the article.

Here is a quote:

Der Flugkapitän Eike Rohn und sein Flugpersonal offenbarten während des zweiten Prozesstages ihre gleichgültige bis feindselige Haltung gegenüber Flüchtlingen.

Since when should the name of such a scum appear on a plane?

Mighty interesting! I’m very curious about this.

The pics in the database show this too, it must be a recent addition. The rest of the lettering is too small, even in the photo’s large version:

You’re making a pretty broad statement there which I find inappropriate.

For the benefit of the non-German speaking crowd:

A couple of years ago, an illegal Sudanese immigrant died on the LH plane on which he was being deported. The police officers were later charged with and found guilty of causing bodily harm to the deportee. In the officers’ trial, the flight crew testified as witnesses.

According to some left wing sources, they "expressed indifference and hostility towards refugees".

Is it ok to express indifference towards refugees? Yes.

Is it ok to express hostility towards refugees? No.

Is it ok to express hostility towards illegal immigrants? Yes, they’re law-breakers. (Maybe "hostility" is a bit of a strong term, how about "disapproval"?)

So, even if the account of that left wing organisation’s article is correct (which I doubt), calling somebody "scum" because of this goes a bit far.

Hello.
I mailed the Airline and the Photogroapher, maybe he can see on the original file what are the two words above. Will post the results here.
