My YWG-ORD Trip

Sun Apr 02, 2000 7:59 am

Tomorow Air Canada is increasing its flights from YWG-ORD from 2 daily 319s to 5 daily CRJs. Since I fly for free because my parents work for AC I'm flying down there standby to take photos and coming back later the same day. The flights I'm going to take have 23 and 38 open seats respectively. This would be a great load factor to see for a standby trip on a 320, but on a CRJ its just something to laugh at! I'm going to get my own row.... or two... or three   Anyway, I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I am the son of an ex SR employee. I still have reduced air fares. Just for your info, you do not fly free. You pay 5% or 10% (ID 90 or 90) Just thaught I would tell you that.

Bon Voyage !

Actualy, the payment structure is not 5% or 10% but is rather divided into zones. YWG-ORD for example is a Zone 1 flight which costs $20. A zone 2 flight shich is a long distance domestic or transborder flight like YHZ-YVR is $40. International flights (zone 3) are $60.

That is far more expensive then what I pay. On Aer Lingus, a flight Kerry-Dublin (Kerry is where I live) costs about $7 (+$7 local airport tax that is only enforced at my local airport but that I get around paying) return. That is not bad at all.
