Dear Lord, please not! Instead of pushing the range of that flying tube, they should put their focus on the C-Series. Think about the customers!

The regular CRJ already has a longer range than that - so are you mistaken, or is this just a bad joke?

EDIT: Ahh, I see it's not a joke, but that you've just left out a bunch of information. "The CRJ900 LR jetliner provides an increased payload and range over the ER version and can carry a full passenger load more than 1,030 miles (1,658 km) from a 5,800-foot (1,767 m) runway." Its standard range was already more than 1658 km, but doing it fully-loaded and taking off from a short runway is the key, I suppose.

Next flight.... who knows.

I flew one of those CRJ900s from PHX to SEA and it was not that bad; i would rather it have been on a different airline though!
The next generation of aircraft is just around the corner!

Yes, indeed. Sorry - should have put the performance improvement in context.

Will Bombardier have an official "launch" when they roll out the CRJ705 aircraft? In the name of good marketing they ought to make it something special to boost interest and sales. Or will they wait until AC Jazz have received their first aircraft and have logged a certain number of flights and customer feedback?
Come, fly the prevailing winds with me

I would expect AC to do something, particularly since it would want to undescore the customer benefits (two classes, 34" seat pitch in economy, PTVs, leather seats) and perhaps have Bombardier chip in...
