US Airways: Envoy Class Worth Extra 30,000 Miles?

Sun Mar 06, 2005 3:33 am

My mother and I were considering taking a trip to Paris using what's left of my father's US Airways miles. I was just wondering if the 80,000 miles to fly to Europe in Envoy Class is a good deal or not, when compared to 50,000 miles for Economy. Granted, almost any C-class product is better than Economy, but is it worth 30,000 miles? If anybody has experienced US' A330 in one or both, please post. Thanks in advance to all who reply  Smile.

If you're flying an A330 route, YES, it's absolutely worth it!

US's Envoy Class is wonderful. Although I believe coach class tickets are only 40,000 Dividend Miles on US.

Nope. I checked the award chart on usairways.com. It's 50,000 for the dates I'm talking about (this upcoming Summer). Sorry about not specifying that.

Well, it depends. The A330-300 does have great envoy class, especially if you have the luck to be in the front row, which has ex first class full sleeper seats. If your on one of the over crowded, over worked B767-200's, the cabin seats do not have some the amenities the A330 has. 1MillionFlyer is right, go to the lounge both ways!

Take Care

Well, I for one have only flown US's 333s in moo-cow class.
I thought they were great. US offers 34" seat pitch in coach- more than anybody else, I think, now that More Room is over at AA. Conti- my airline of choice- only offers 31" of their Transatlantic 752s.
Service was good- the crews were probably the best I ahve encountered on a major/legacy carrier.

I vote go business, but if you'd rather save the miles, coach is certainly fine.
