Air Tahiti Nui On CDG-LAX

Wed Mar 09, 2005 7:45 am

Can a person fly just CDG-LAX on Air Tahiti Nui? Or is this only a stopover for fuel and therefore deboarding isn't allowed?

Hi Rolo,
Yes you can fly CDG-LAX (or vice versa) on TN.
They have fifth freedom rights on that route.  Smile

They do not have fifth freedoms. TN is a French carrier, as Tahiti is part of France, and therefore have the same rights as any other French flag carrier.

They are wrong, not in saying TN can carry the passengers, but why. Since TN is a French flag carrier, they have the same rights as AF or any other French carrier, they don't need fifth freedoms. Fifth freedoms would be if they were flying PPT-LAX-YYZ and had traffic rights on LAX-YYZ-LAX

I've been looking at their prices on the LAX-CDG run and are always VERY expensive, almost a 1000 over air france... Is there service superb? or is it that theyre flights are always full?

Actually, TN is frequently the cheapest choice out of LAX. They are very quick to drop a $300-$400 RT sale.

I am from L.A. as well and they have been offering those fares since they first started flying to CDG. I am betting you caught them on a bad day, when they had filled all the cheap seats. Ever catch the billboard on the way in to LAX?

I have never flown with them but I have talked to some people who have and they have said that their Y class is actually quite nice. One of them was 6'9" mind you, so that is saying something. Apparently the food is great

I've flown on TN 22 which operates LAX-CDG Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun 11:30AM - 7:25AM(+1) in Club Poerava (Business Class) 24 seats on the 343. Service is great, food is great, aircraft clean and comfortable .... in my opinion much better than AF on the LAX-CDG run ...

Contact Nouvelles Frontieres (I hope that's the correct spelling) in Los Angeles. They offer very good fares from LAX to CDG on TN.

I flew their economy class roundtrip LAX-PPT in July 2004 and it was better than expected. I would guess my seat pitch was 33-34" and the service was pretty good too. Also, the cabin was probably only about 60 percent occupied on both flights.
Keepin' it real.

2 high yield routes combined with 1 more high yield routes and right on the GC. Hannibal Smith would have probably said "I love it when a plan comes together"
