Wed Mar 09, 2005 10:27 am

MD80 N34838 is currently en-route to Winnipeg from Goodyear with an ETA of 0312z 9th (guess this will be a late evening arrival 8th local time).

Flying using reg as callsign.

My best guesses:

Jetsgo bought ex-CO MD-80s?
YWG in need of a new fire-trainer?

I don't think YWG needs a new fire trainer...theres a couple of derelicts tucked away in the trees on the north west edge of the field as it is. My best guess is that its a new JetsGo bird, but why it would go to Winnipeg I have no clue.

Hopefully Jetsgo.

It would be a pity to burn it given the number of airport useing purpose built fire trainers, (e.g. AMS and LHR).

My guess would be its a technical stop enroute to Europe. I guess we'll have to see where it end up though.

Interesting. Haven't seen anything about that. Are you sure it was going TO Varig and not going flying out in Varig colours to an operator elsewhere ?

The only info I can find for GYR for last Friday (4th) was 'FDX9043' MD11 which departed at 1824z to Anchorage (minus how many hours you are behind GMT you are off that). Was it that?

The only other MD11 I can find was a late afternoon departure last Tuesday (2nd) which left for Honolulu as 'UPS9466'.

Interested to hear more about this Varig.  Confused

I saw N34838 on FE about an hour ago. Searched through FlyteComm other trackers, but I could not find a flight plan. Strange. Has it made it to YWG yet?

Now en-route to Goose Bay. Departed Winnipeg at 1616z today 9th and rough ETA for Goose Bay is 1934z. Looks like it's not for JGO after all and is flying across the Pond.

It was highly unlikely to be for Jetsgo anyway. There has been no local press release or news that SG was adding to their current M80 fleet.
I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

Flight plans filed under tail numbers dont show up on flytecomm and most of the other internet flight trackers.
